Darla Teagarden is not exactly a recent crush.
I fell in love with her work as soon as I knew she worked with one of my favourite bands
- Miss Derringer -
(up there, with their singer, Elizabeth McGrath).
On her website, you'll learn that she "ventured into the medium of photography in order to combine the darker vintage cabaret aesthetic in which [she] was immersed during [her] performance years with the techniques learned as a painter and as a stylist".
No one can deny that she explores a universe and aesthetics of her own.
Suspended people, colourful pin-ups, slightly weird & poetic scenery...
Her work is immediately recognisable, with its old-fashionned theatre look.
You got to love it!
